Not every AI task in an SEO workflow requires the same model capability. Interactive chat requires tool-calling and streaming so the assistant can query your local SQLite database mid-conversation. Drafting a Markdown article or rewriting a meta title requires strong instruction following. Testing live AI search citations requires a provider that exposes a first-party web-search grounding tool.

First-party search data is the backbone of Searchbop’s diagnostic engine—and the best part is that Google and Bing provide these APIs at zero per-call cost for your verified sites:
- Google Service Account (Search Console + GA4): You upload or paste your own Google Cloud Service Account JSON credential and grant its client email read access to your Search Console property (
sc-domain:yourdomain.comor URL-prefix) and optional GA4 property. Searchbop uses this credential to pull 28-day vs. previous 28-day search queries, page performance, sitemaps, and per-URL index inspection verdicts. - Bing Webmaster Tools & IndexNow: Connect a Bing Webmaster API key to pull Bing search performance rows and submit updated URLs. Searchbop also generates and verifies an IndexNow key file (
/{key}.txt) so Bing, Yandex, and partner engines can be notified immediately when pages change. - Google PageSpeed Insights: Add an optional PageSpeed API key to collect Core Web Vitals and performance scores during scheduled runs without hitting unauthenticated rate limits.

GitHub repositories, local Git folders, and Telegram summaries
- GitHub Personal Access Token (or fine-grained token): Grant repository contents and pull-request permissions ONLY to the repositories you want Searchbop to manage. Used to read your Markdown/MDX structure, commit SEO fixes to a feature branch, and open pull requests.
- Local Repository Path: Developing locally on your Mac? Point a site workspace directly at a local Git checkout on disk instead of the GitHub API.
- Telegram Bot Notifications (Optional): Add a Telegram bot token and chat ID if you want a concise summary message when a scheduled daily run completes or opens a pull request.
Apple Ads and App Store Connect
Both are optional and only matter for iOS apps. Keyword difficulty and ranks work without either one. Neither has an API fee.
- Apple Ads: Adds Apple’s own popularity score for each search term, by country, plus related search terms. Searchbop creates a key pair, you paste the public key into Apple Ads, and the private key stays encrypted on your device. It only reads these scores and starts no ad spend.

Model capabilities vary: Account access and model IDs change over time as providers release new versions. Custom API and OpenRouter connections must select a model that supports structured tool calling and streaming for the interactive chat assistant. We do not claim to be the only BYOK desktop SEO tool on the market (other desktop tools such as SEODesktop and SerpDad also use BYOK concepts); Searchbop focuses on combining Search Console evidence, AI search visibility checks, and reviewed GitHub pull requests in one conversational workspace.
